Breedband te duur!

23 december 2002, 19:54

Een recente studie bevestigd de opinie dat de kosten voor breedband te hoog zijn voor algemeen gebruik:

According to the FT, research by fdtm and Reed Electronics Research found that, across 14 European countries, the ‘trigger’ price needed for the majority of consumers to take-up broadband access was EU39 or ?25 per month; lower than BT’s existing ‘no frills’ rate of ?27 per month. The study backs up the widely-held view that consumers are not prepared to pay higher prices for broadband than for standard access packages and are instead waiting for prices to come down before they sign up. It also means that ISPs will need to generate broadband revenues almost exclusively through paid-for content than through access charges.
