Online Advertising in China

18 november 2004, 17:26

Data drawn from eMarketer’s latest China Online Spotlight Report shows revenues for online advertising in China totaled $96 million in 2003. This is still miniscule compared to the $7.3 billion spent on online advertising in the U.S. in that year, but growth is accelerating, according to data from Morgan Stanley. eMarketer forecasts Internet users in China will number 200 million by 2007, 80% of whom will be broadband users. If the Chinese economy continues to grow as it has done over the last decade, the prospects for online advertising are very good.
