Everything you ever knew about media strategies have been refined and redefined with shrewd consideration and integration into the matrix, the mediasphere, and the blogosphere. The new strategy to new media in a world of media strategies (ie. Madison Avenue, brick-and-mortar Advertising (Ad) Agencies, Public Relations (PR) Firms) is to invest serious time, money, and resources into the future—new media strategies—which integrate mobile technologies (SMS, GSM, Blackberry, IM, Always-On, VoIP), wireless technologies (802.11b, 802.11g, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, VoIP, Cellular, and radio frequency identification (RFID) tags), and Online Community and Publishing (BBS, MUDD, MOO, IRC, USENET, Web Logs (weblogs or blogs), Online Newspapers and Magazine (online self publishing), and Instant Messaging (AIM, MSN Messenger, Yahoo! Messenger, ICQ, and Jabber, etc)), and Advertainment (BMW Films as a prime example) into a new hybrid of powerful marketing/advertising/public relations known as new media strategies.
I PROPOSE A NAME for the intellectual cyberspace we bloggers occupy: the Blogosphere. Simple enough; the root word is logos, from the Greek meaning, variously: In pre-Socratic philosophy, the principle governing the cosmos, the source of this principle, or human reasoning about the cosmos; Among the Sophists, the topics of rational argument or the arguments themselves. (The American Heritage? Dictionary of the English Language)
