Het Amerikaanse amusementsbedrijf Connected Ventures, bekend van o.a. CollegeHumor, Vimeo, Big Shocker en Busted Tees, scoren met deze aanstekelijke bedrijfsvideo, die na werktijd in één avond werd opgenomen, een enorme hit met zo'n 400.000 views op Vimeo. In de video is te zien hoe de werknemers van Connected Ventures lip syncen (playbacken) op het nummer Flagpole Sitta van Harvey Danger. Al snel kreeg de video navolging van o.a. LLRT.com en een niet nader genoemd bedrijf met een eigen versie van de clip. In de reacties lieten internetters spontaan open sollicitaties achter, o.a. "That rocked! I would love to work at a place like that" en "Great commercial for Connected Ventures. When can I start?".

Met de krappe arbeidsmarkt voor bepaalde branches doen bedrijven steeds ludiekere virale/guerrilla acties om op te vallen, zo zagen we o.a. Rhinofly, We're hiring, TBWA\Glazenwassersactie, Mag ik je baas zijn, Ilse, is this the way to Amarillo en recent de spraakmakende wervingsactie van Berk, waarbij men door middel van vrachtwagens met een grote videowall probeerde de werknemers van accountantskantoren Deloitte, Ernst & Young, KPMG en PriceWaterhouseCoopers uit te lokken om hun hart te luchten over hun werk/privé balans. Ook sollicitanten proberen middels YouTube op te vallen bij bedrijven, zo zagen we eerder de indringende oproep tot een stage en probeert G.T. Wiarda een stage te krijgen bij RTL Nieuws.
