Whilst it is true that Wikipedia is a useful resource, I find that that the editing quality is very variable, especially in specialist areas – such as broadcasting. A couple of articles I tried to write about Dutch broadcasting and broadcasters was removed from the English edition on the grounds that the editor in the US had never heard of these people. He was using Google as his guideline…if it wasn’t popular in Google, these people didn’t exist.

Having said that, Britannica’s articles on broadcasting are about 10 years out of date.

Precies mijn punt, Carl.
